Comments on: Why did that blog/website shut down? One person’s loss is another person’s gain, why shouldn’t I start up a copycat blog/website when someone shuts theirs down? That person shut down their blog/website, someone else started up similar one, I will just chat on that one, it’s no big deal is it?

Re IP Addresses
memory serves that you can hide them behind a bulk server with one registrants name. (or something like that). I've seen this but can't remember where.

Question and comment re: Pseudonyms and Anonymous tags.

In the assumptive belief that assuming these tags will hide our identity are we by extension extending invitations to others who also have something to hide?
If hiding serves a personal purpose, why then would we choose to expose ourselves in this place called the web, a most outrageous place?

Curiosity by its nature demands fulfillment with an answer. That answer may derived with good or bad intent.

A obvious perspective is that curiosity is hightened when the premise is one of secrecy. As such blog authors must decide to whom are they extending invitations.

I'm just sayin.....

Good points, Larry. Perhaps, people have a false sense of security when they are on the internet and think they can do anything they want and remain anonymous. I guess they don't know about IP addresses.

There are good, bad and just plain ugly people out there.

My analogy:
Not much different than standing on a freeway during rush hour. Keep your arms in, head up, don't tie up your shoes, watch out for the truck mirrors and hope all the drivers are sober and have had a good day.

Your points are extremely valid and for those who think it's easy or friendly re read this post and think again. It's certainly not all pretty and nice.

Lesson #1 - Quickly learn how to delete people who pee in their cornflakes.

Philosophically: Isn't it just life magnified?

If you are wondering why I refer to the news links as article #1, #2, #3, and #4, this is because you can attract certain people to your blog or website by publishing certain words. Fun, eh?
